2.4GHz Devices Advisory

Prohibited Phones and Wireless Devices
There are several types of devices that operate at a frequency that conflicts with the All-Access wireless network (2.4 & 5.8 GHz). Therefore, use of these wireless devices is strictly prohibited on campus. Failure to comply with this restriction will result in removal of the device from the campus and subject to possible disciplinary action.
Below is a list of some (but certainly not all) of the devices that are prohibited on campus:
- 2.4 GHz & 5.8 GHz cordless phones
- Wireless access points
- Wireless DSL routers
- Wireless A/V senders
- Wireless speaker systems
- Bluetooth devices
- Wireless video cameras
- Poorly shielded microwave ovens
-
- Any device that provides Dynamic Host Control Protocol
(DHCP services or Network Address Translation [NAT])
If there is any question whether a device conflicts with the All-Access wireless network, please contact the IMT Support Desk at (626) 815-5050 or via email at support@apu.edu.
