   Fall of 2004 APU and thousands of other universities were attacked by droves of viruses, some of which compromised network access. Many schools were forced to turn off network access completely for weeks or even months. While APU worked hard to keep the network alive, many students experienced slow or unreliable connections over the course of the school year due to the destructive nature of Blaster, Welchia, and other viruses. The Clean Access Client checks every computer on the network for Norton Anti-Virus (which is free for all enrolled students) and ensures that it has been updated recently.
2. It makes your computer less vulnerable to virus attacks
   By requiring all critical Windows Updates, the Clean Access Client strengthens your first line of defense by keeping your operating system up to date.
