Getting Online

If you are getting set up with APU's network for the first time, there are a few qualifications that you must meet before you are able to use APUwifi:

Prerequisites
  • Installed and properly-configured 802.11b-compliant wireless card
  • Activated APU NetID and password
  • Windows XP or Vista with all current Windows Updates installed
  • Symantec AntiVirus with recently-updated virus definitions
  • Minimum system requirements
Clean Access Agent
Every student must be logged in through Cisco Clean Access Agent before accessing the Internet through APUwifi. After logging in with your existing APU NetID and password, this program ensures that you have current updates and virus protection to keep you and the APU community safe from threats over the network. To download and install this necessary and helpful program, click here.

Symantec AntiVirus
Every student is also required to have an AntiVirus program that is compatible with Clean Access Agent. IMT provides and supports Symantec Corporate Edition 10.2 for all students, free of charge. Alternative AntiVirus programs are not supported or serviced by IMT and may need to be uninstalled before gaining full access to APUwifi. To download and install Symantec, click here.

If you have any questions or difficulty, call or visit the Support Desk which is located on East Campus on the east end of the music parking lot.
